BELT & TESTING SYSTEM

This ranking system helps you identify the rank of each individual in the dojo and know what the requirements there are to test for the next belt. At the Daichi dojo it’s not all about testing, for us it’s about what you learn along the way so you can wear your belt with pride.

At Daichi Issihinryu we don’t have contracts or make you pay for testing.
We believe testing for your belt is earned from hard work and should be rewarded freely.

Requirements for all promotions - student will:

Demonstrate correct form and technique on all belt requirements.
Demonstrate all previous level requirements, with appropriate level of skill displayed.
Demonstrate: drills, bunkai, and kumite (upon direction by Sensei)
Demonstrate appropriate-level knowledge on: Isshinryu style, history, kata, bunkai)
Demonstrate good character: in the Dojo, at school and at home

TERMS TO KNOW: Kyu - colored belts / Dan - black belt / Kihon - basic movements
